Guy Delisle is one of the most respected authors working in comics today. His book Jerusalem : Chronicles from the Holy City won the Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for Best Album in 2012.
Delisle’s books combine autobiographical and documentary aspects. Over the years, he’s been to Shenzhen in China and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. His writing is both personal and political, infused with a thoughtful, restrained sense of humor. In 2012, he came back to his hometown of Québec which he’d left 20 years before. While there, he carried a sketchbook around and drew the places and people he saw. Fragments of the city, which take on a new meaning when drawn in his simple yet effective style.
